Last week when Ye Ye and Nai Nai came over for a visit, they mentioned that they were thinking of getting Heidi a writing table so that she will have her own space to doodle, do her colouring or painting etc.
So today we arranged to go down all together to Ikea Tampines to do some furniture shopping with Uncle Danny joining us too. After our lunch at the cafe, we then proceeded to the children's section where we browsed through the various children's table furniture before finally deciding on a wooden table and chair for Heidi. Our little girl was then busy playing with the rocking moose and toys at the children's area. When we were about to leave the children's section, Heidi refused to follow us and insisted on playing with the rocking moose. Ye Ye, the doting grandfather on seeing how much Heidi loved playing with the rocking moose, then said he would get that for his granddaughter as well.
While paying for the stuffs, Daddy realised that the bill did not tally with the price tag of the table. So while Daddy, Uncle Danny and I were at the customer service section sorting out the bill with the staff, Ye Ye and Nai Nai kept Heidi company in a little art and craft corner where children can help themselves to the crayons and pieces of paper. When we returned to join them, Nai Nai showed me a paper windmill and said that Heidi did the colouring on a piece of paper and a lady staff folded that into a windmill. Nai Nai then went on to praise Heidi on how well she could hold a crayon, how she was able to identify the various colours and so on. Guess the grandparents were very happy to spend some quality time with their granddaughter.
And when we got home, no one was more thrilled than Heidi when Daddy assembled the rocking moose and set up the wooden table and chair. She rocks on the wooden moose while watching her Barney VCD and also seems to be happy to be able to have her own little space to do her doodling and colouring.
